Go to a cop killer's funeral as a city administrator, but not the Officer's? I'd say firing is the nicest thing that could happen.
ST. PETERSBURG - Dr. Goliath Davis, an administrator for the city of St. Petersburg and longtime community figure, has been fired by Mayor Bill Foster.
In announcing the move this morning, the city cited a "loss of confidence" in the former police chief, who officially held the position of senior administrator of community enrichment.
"This is the first of many organizational changes being discussed as we move to create greater efficiencies, while advancing the mission and goals of a city with limitless need and limited resources," Foster said in a press release.
Davis has been criticized for allegedly not attending the funerals for the three St. Pete police officers killed in the last month. But according to one report, he did go to the funeral of Hydra Lacy Jr., who shot and killed Sgt. Thomas Baitinger and Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz back on January 24.
