DELTONA -- Two Deltona women who called to report they were robbed at gunpoint ended up being arrested after deputies learned they took two small children along to buy drugs, reports show.

Jame Brown, 25, and Dawn Pratt, 31, called deputies at 11:23 a.m. Monday to report they had been robbed by a man at gunpoint of $200 and a cell phone. Deputies, assisted by a helicopter and police dogs, searched for the suspect but could not find the robber.

In interviews later, the women told police they had been taken to an unoccupied home at Bailey Avenue and Alladin Drive by a woman known to them as "Mimi," who they knew dealt in prescription pills. Brown said she wanted to purchase six 30-milligram Percocet pills at $14 a piece and Pratt had plans to buy 10, investigators said.

"Mimi," who investigators said turned out to be Melissa Alfonso, 24, of Deltona, took the women to the abandoned home and asked to park in the driveway. Alfonso came with the man to the car and as the robber pointed the handgun at the women, Alfonso walked away telling him not to hurt the children, reports state.
