Police: Dad Made Son Join Beating for Gang Initiation
CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland man has been indicted on attempted murder and child endangering charges for allegedly pressing his 10-year-old son to join a random beating attack as part of a gang initiation.
Gabriel Rosado, 31, was indicted March 10 and pleaded not guilty last week. He and five other men have been held on $250,000 bond each to await a court hearing Thursday. Charges against the defendants include: kidnapping, felonious assault, and attempted murder, with criminal gang specifications.
Spokesman Ryan Miday with the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office said Tuesday that juvenile charges are possible against the son and several other boys accused of being involved in the attack.
Miday said on November 23, 2010, the group jumped a 31-year-old man while he was walking home in the area of W 21st and Dennison. The man was allegedly knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the head.
