Jimmy was a great guy. His smile and friendly disposition will be missed by all.MADISON, Miss. -- A Madison police officer was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle crash, the Madison County coroner said.
Brooks was driving his personal motorcycle and was on his way to work, Madison police said. The crash is being investigated by the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
He started in LE in 1971 and was Chief at Vicksburg PD from 1989 to 1992. He worked elsewhere for a short while and came back into LE at Madison where he was one of the first motor officers there. He really loved this job.
He has three sons that also serve on the same department in various capacities. One, like his dad, is a motor officer and it was not unusual to see them riding together.*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."
