Without warning or provocation, Guerrero attacked a detention officer, punching him in the face as he was walking by, knocking him to the ground. Guerrero continued to punch and kick the officer.
The officer got back on his feet and, with the assistance of several other staff members, restrained Guerrero in handcuffs, Pinal County Sheriff's officials say.
Guerrero told officers that he was afraid the drug cartels were going to kill him. He said that the cartel he had worked for, "Los Zetas," labeled him a "snitch" because he was giving information on the cartel to the police, officials say. Guerrero attacked the officer because he did not want to be released.
