Tornadoes....Again
Much of the Southeast is getting hammered today by storms. By storms I mean tornado cells that are touching down and ripping things up for 70+ miles at a time. I have a feeling we are about to get our collective a$$es kicked. I'll be out till at least 2200hrs central time possibly longer. We've already had plenty of damage from straight line winds this morning. Keep the people of Cullman & Tuscaloosa, AL in your prayers. Tuscaloosa was hit by a tornado about .5 to 1 mile wide.

SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

Alabama's death toll from severe weather reaches 25 | al.com
In Choctaw County, Miss., a Louisiana police officer was killed Wednesday morning when a towering sweetgum tree fell onto his tent as he shielded his young daughter with his body, said Kim Korthuis, a supervisor with the National Park Service. The girl wasn't hurt.
The 9-year-old girl was brought to a motorhome about 100 feet away where campsite volunteer Greg Maier was staying with his wife, Maier said. He went back to check on the father and found him dead.
"She wasn't hurt, just scared and soaking wet," Maier said.
Her father, Lt. Wade Sharp, had been with the Covington Police Department for 19 years.
"He was a hell of an investigator," said Capt. Jack West, his colleague in Louisiana.

Just got off the phone from a friend in Franklin Co. Al., said it was the worst he's ever seen. Also said Marion county has had a couple of towns that have been devastated.
Thankfully so far my area in the southwestern part of the state isn't getting it too bad just yet.

My old high school baseball coach has family in Arab. I've been to Alabama 4 times, once each year of high school in the spring for spring training (couldn't do too much outside in northwest Pennsylvania until later in the spring)
The whole town was full of nothing but southern hospitality. I pray y'all get some relief soon. The world would be much cleaner if blind people carried brooms instead of sticks.
At communion, when the priest says "Body of Christ", I say "Thanks, I've been working out", then I grab the cracker and run back to my seat

Prayers sent. We got missed again thank the Lord but the NE side of our state got hit hard. I watched the tornado go through Tuscaloosa on a live feed. That was sickening. I knew I was watching people die or lose everything they had. Even the National Weather Service guys on NWS live chat were saying prayers. This is the worst month I ever remember here for tornadoes.
