Another "wear your vest" thread
I figured since we already had one thread dedicated to wearing your vest...why not a second.
This occurred last year. The officer took a shotgun slug to the chest in an ambush. This didn't happen too far from where I live. I don't know the officer, but I went to college with his brother who is also a police officer.

This is something that I have learned over the years. Never miss an opportunity to tell your loved ones how much you love them, for you will never know which moment shall be your last.
I hope and pray that each and every one of you in this profession will always wear a vest. This may be uncommon coming from someone outside of Law Enforcement, but I personally want all of you to be able to go home to your families at the end of your shifts, and to live another day.

I bought my 1st one when it cost more than I made in 2 months. I've always said "if you're wearing the target, wear the vest".
As I head for the door, I can always count on her telling me to "be careful", but for 27 years of doing this the last thing said by both is still "I love you".Blessed are the the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. MATT 5:10
