Casey Anthony Verdict - Murder-not guilty / Agg Child Abuse - Not Guilty / False Info to LEO - guilty X 4.

I personally think this is a travesty.

I didn't follow the trial or case closely enough to have much of an opinion. But that jury came back fast, no?

To be honest, I didn't either. What I did see was a prosecution based far too much upon emotion, and a defense who had the gravity in the courtroom to challenge that prosecution's lack of solid facts. Such is the very recipe for acquittal.

I don't think Casey Anthony will be able to go out in public much for a while without being verbally, possibly physically, attacked. Emotions are extremely high on this subject. They already had threats and demonstrators at the residence when this began.

I watched when my schedule would allow. The Prosecution's case was very circumstantial, but I think they worked it well, although there was the ever present emotion card. The defense took wild, drunken haymakers in the night throwing out theories that they weren't able to connect.

I didn't watch to case very closely but I honestly am not surprised.

From what I know of the case, her kid went "missing" after leaving with a fake nanny named Zanny. She turned up later deceased, and there was evidence she was in Anthony's car for a time, as well as having eventually been buried.

The only "proof" they have that she killed her is circumstantial, the lack of grief, chloroform, duct tape, etc. All they know is she had her daughters body in her possession at some point in time, and she improperly handled her body by letting it decomp in her car, and then buried it in a makeshift grave.

They had enough to convict her for lying, and improperly disposing a body (or whatever Florida's equivalent is) but honestly....the NG verdict for murder and manslaughter aren't that surprising to me.

With that said, she did it, we all know she did it, even the people on the jury probably "know" she did it. But they have to deliver a verdict based on the information presented to them. Not their gut feeling, or even what seems like "common sense" to them. Common sense and gut feelings are not burdens of proof.

Take solace in the fact that Casey Anthony's life is beyond ruined now. She'll live the rest of her life as an outcast, be known as a murderer, and like CB said, she will certainly receive a final judgement.

Agreed. I thank the prosecutors erred in seeking the death penalty in a circumstanial case and in presenting the so called " junk science " evidence.

As for the jury , anybody that as been in law enforcement for a while knows that there are few things more unpredictable than a jury.

I expected her to be convicted of one of the lesser included charges, likely manslaughter.
