Arrogance, disrespect heard at Gold Star Museum | The Des Moines Register | DesMoinesRegister.comI mentioned the fact that President Obama was the commander in chief of all our military personnel. To my absolute horror, he opined without reservation, "He may be your commander in chief, but he is not ours."

Asinine. There is no need for any elected official to be displayed in that museum. Especially Obama. His very being is a slight to the service of all military personnell.

Hmm. I have to disagree, but I'll explain.
I'm no fan of this President. He's a fraud, an extremist, and a failure.
However, he is the President of the United States until such time as we can rectify that. He is the Commander in Chief, even if he is a poor one.
His photo us up at every military installation, and was put up the day after his inaugeration.
To the military *who* the President is does not rise to the level of importance of *what* he is.I'm your huckleberry...

I was a bit taken aback by the quote above when I first saw it. Upon reading the articles, it's clear that a) It was not a service member who made the comment, and b) it was a private facility, not a government one.
To be quite frank (as opposed to Barney Frank), Obama may be a clown and and a hack, but he is the Commander in Chief, as unfortunate a statement as that may be.To Live Is To Eat

I agree with you on the point about the military and the president. It's how I personally feel , but I also think that the incident was overblown because a private citizen on private property voiced his opinon of our current president.
