65 arrested in anti-oil-pipeline protests near White House
More here: 65 arrested during protest near White House - The Washington Post
Sixty-five people were arrested Saturday outside the White House in a protest that organizers said was to pressure President Obama to deny a permit for a new oil pipeline.
The protesters were charged with failing to obey an order governing protests on the White House sidewalk, said Sgt. David Schlosser, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police.

The same pipeline that gives them the fuel to drive or bus to that location . . . and keep them warm in winter . . .

How would they rather have the oil delivered?

Why dig a trench all the way across the country and lay pipe to transfer oil from Canada down to the gulf coast? Simple answer, to refine it. Later it gets piped/train tanked/trucked back up north to be used as fuel. Simpler solution? Remove stick from EPA butt long enough for us to build refineries in these states the pipeline is passing through. We could use the jobs and motorists throughout the country benefit from the increased, and weather diversified, refining capacity. Hurricanes in the gulf? No dip in our production. Ice storm here? Gulf is unaffected. Worst case we end up polluting our own ground water. Since that's the same concern as the pipeline, let's go with my plan.

Can you imagine how nuts they would go if someone actually tried to build a refinery?

Potential pollution is the price of doing business. Let's build some refineries.
