Just in case you forgot...
Just in case you forgot what most people think cops are worth:
Mumia Abu Jamal murdered a Philadelphia cop, Daniel Faulkner in 1981. He was sentenced to the death penalty. Over the last several decades he's garnered a huge following of celebrities and politicians advocating for him and dragging out his sentence which has yet to be fulfilled. 30 years, sentence not carried out.
In 1989 Troy Davis murdered Mark MacPhail, a cop trying to help the homeless man Davis was beating for a beer. Last night, Davis finally made his court appearance with a Higher Authority. But not without the wailing and gnashing of teeth by celebrities and politicians including President Carter. Carter even claimed the death penalty is "unjust and outdated." 22 years for justice.
In 1998, James Byrd was chained to a truck and dragged, dying a horrible death at the hands of three men, including Lawrence Brewer. Brewer also made his final court appearance last night for trial by a Higher Authority. Not a peep from Jimmy Carter, Susan Sarandon et al about the death penalty being "unjust and outdated." 13 years to execution, I guess a lack of celebrity help speeds things up. (Don't get me wrong, Brewer is an oxygen thief who got what he deserved.)
In case you're keeping score, the death penalty as applied to cop killers is unjust, outdated, and should be abolished. But it is apparently justice when applied to white supremacists.
Just in case you forgot where you stand. Stay safe and watch your back. Watch your brother and sister's backs too. We have to look out for each other, if we don't nobody will. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

Jury pools and local bias
From Xiphos post above: ".....In case you're keeping score, the death penalty as applied to cop killers is unjust, outdated, and should be abolished. But it is apparently justice when applied to white supremacists...."
David Lewis Rice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Perhaps Maclean, Car 4, or Morris have more direct knowledge of this Seattle/King Co. 1985 case known as the Goldmark murder case. Goldmark was a liberal lawyer, and leader in the progressive climate of the Big City. At the end of the trial the Seattle jury wasted no time getting a reservation for Rice with Washington's Hangman. Did not take that jury long to send Rice, a wanna-be (white) Nazi & loser to Walla Walla for execution. The usual anti death penalty forces (print and TV media, whiners, etc) were pretty much silent. This loser (Rice) murdered the family of one of "THEM", so the gallows became more "appropriate" for him.
Unfortunately Rice was commuted to life due to a trial error. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.-- Anonymous
Old People, like me, may not be around to witness the destruction of our Nation. The rest of you may not survive the collapse. We all have the sworn duty to prevent it.

Here in Memphis they will typically drop assault charges on an officer ( misdemeanor ) but if it is someone from the private sector they have to have the victims permission. I have even heard a judge say it was just part of the job. the fellow that ran over my partner and drug him about 20 ft. got a whopping 4 months. I am sick of the catch and release program with p.o.c. getting time served and returned to the streets.

The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented
on his wearing his sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you
expecting trouble?" "No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have
brought my rifle."
(just stole this one hope you don't mind)
The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant,
it is just that they know so much that isn't so.
