I'm surprised he isn't from my old county

Good pop!
Seriously though...only a 50K bail? our county holds possession with intent to distribute offenders, of ANY drug, on 100K. Dope dealers have lots of cash on hand, and we upped it because they were easily bonding with the lower amounts. You figure this guy has a fucking plane, has 74lbs of the stuff, and is a flight risk since he's not from the area. (No pun intended...honestly
) All they could come up with is 50K?

I wonder if he tried to use the "this is my cousin's plane" excuse?

I am surprised that we do not see more of this type of thing. It does show how unsecured general aviation is. to load that amount of drugs in to an aircraft with no one seeing is crazy.

That's a pretty broad stroke. Sounds like he loaded two suitcases into an airplane. The same ones he had to load into a car to get to an airport.
General aviation is surprising more secure that you might imagine, hence the "paid with cash" statement that tipped of the LEOs. Everyone is watching in a small town airport. Hell, there are old guys that do nothing but sit at airports and complain.
