Fitchburg, MA highway foot chase
Route 2 slowed as police apprehend driver
Traffic came to a standstill on Route 2 in Leominster this morning when state police chased - and apprehended - a man who earlier was the subject of a pursuit in Fitchburg. A passing motorist helped with the apprehension.
Fitchburg police initially tried to pull over the man about 10 a.m. because he was driving erratically in the lower Main Street area. The man, driving a pickup truck, sped away from officers and out of the city. State police picked up the pursuit on Route 13.
The pickup was on the ramp leading to Route 2 when the truck ran into another vehicle.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
