Bear attacks couple in their own house

A black bear attacked and injured a Perry County couple early Monday after chasing their dog into their home.

Richard Moyer told abc27 News he was letting in the dog at around 3 a.m. when the bear rushed through a patio door and jumped on him. He suffered injuries to his head, face and arms.

Black bears used to be Gentle Ben for the most part....but the past few years they have begun to be MUCH more aggresive. We have had a number of high profile attacks around here recently. Just another reason I never go into the great forest behind my house without my .44. Because of a law here (recent) the bear population has exploded. Now, the Grizzlys from Canada are migrating south along the spine of the Cascade Mountains. Nobody wants to meet one of those in the woods.

Yes it is....unless you are tough enough to punch the bear in the nose.

There was another recent story I believe out of Utah or Idaho close to the border where a guy had a grizzley come in his yard and charge his kids. He grabbed a rifle and shot the thing 3 times killing it. The govt charged him with poaching, killing a protected species , animal cruelty, and figned him like $15,000. They said he was justified in shooting it 2 times but the third was over the top. Public outcry lead to the criminal charges being dropped but he still had to pay the fine. These things are dangerous I don't care if they are protected or not if it is a danger Im acting just like if it were a perp with a gun........shoot till it is no longer a threat.
