Louisiana Makes It Illegal to Use Cash for Secondhand Sales

Since it's printed on all US Currency, "This note is legal tender for all sales, public and private," I seriously doubt it will withstand the SCOTUS."If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking." -Gen. George S. Patton

Until it is struck down it will be known as most broken law in LA.

I really hope some day politicians will pride themselves on repealing laws rather than making them.

And to top it off the f**kheads blame it on law enforcement. The DAs here don't prosecute the laws we already have on the books. Now they add this uninforceable bullshit. F**king morons. Pardon my f**king french.
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

10-21-11, 12:57 AM #7first off - don't put your words into my mouth - cops have been tracking down criminals in this state for a long ass time before this stupid ass law... and will be doing so for a long time to come... (I may be being a little paranoid but...) just because you wanna keep track of how and where I'm spending my money - don't you DARE try to make people hate my profession that I love so dearly even more than they already do...Rickey Hardy, seems to think it's no big deal, admitting that this is purely to make life easier for law enforcement in response to criminals who steal stuff and then sell it off:
you keep your nose out of what I spend my money on... it's none of your business...
these knuckleheads in the capital are driving me crazy - they pass the dumbest crap... the most un-enforceable laws, but then jump up and down if we don't take off running code to go catch one of them...
and +1 Capt...
not always the DA - sometimes the judge... (just cause our DA over here is pretty good - the ADAs and the judges can sometimes be a toss up)
next thing they'll wanna do is DNA swab, GPS track, have access to my personal cell phone, and want me to work for free just because I wear a badge and am a "public servant"...
oh... wait... guess I could NOT do what my heart calls me to do... =/-=Twan007

Yeah, one should always be leery of any politician who says a law they passed is to be used for one thing, but could be used for another. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. But lawmakers have to know that any law will be used for the most sinister of purposes if it's not worded properly.
After all, the Income Tax was only a "temporary measure" and was supposed to be repealed after WWI."If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking." -Gen. George S. Patton

I bet the main source of this law is to track income at pawn shops, etc. My opinion is that it made tracking stolen stuff harder because these shops will now be more careful about what they buy. Finding stolen stuff in a pawn shop is a big investigative tool.
