Good dog
IPSWICH, Australia -- A family pet is now a hero to a family in Australia after saving their two children from a snake. The dog was bitten as it killed the snake under the children's swing.
“She's a red dog crossed with something,” said Ben Lynch.
Well, perhaps she's crossed with courage because on Saturday, River, the 18- month-old family pet showed that in spades.
“River came bursting out and jumped on the snake,” said Michelle Lynch.
The girls, 7-year-old Michelle, and 2-year-old Kaylee, were heading for a swing when a more than two-foot long brown snake reared, and River attacked.
They’re a pack animal and we’re their pack so it’s definitely their instinct to get in there, especially when kids are involved,” said Catherine Lynch
Twelve hours later, River was paralyzed and they rushed her to the vet hospital for hundreds of dollars of anti-venom.
