Mother robs convenience store with baby in tow
ROY — Police say a woman held up a convenience store with a utility knife, fled in a stolen vehicle with her one-year- old child strapped in by a seatbelt, and after she was arrested, kicked out the rear window of a police cruiser in an attempt to flee.
Brittnee Boren, 23, of Roy, was booked into Weber County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery, vehicle theft and damage to jails after the Friday night incident, said Roy Police Sgt. Curtis Gibson.
The series of events began around 7 p.m. when Boren entered the Sinclair gas and convenience store at 5608 S. 1900 West, brandishing a utility-style knife and demanding money, Gibson said. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk, she fled eastbound on 5600 South in a red 1996 Ford F-150 pickup that had been reported as stolen.
Roy Police issued an attempt to locate and the truck was spotted and stopped near 40th Street and Riverdale Road. Officers found Boren's daughter secured by a seatbelt in the pickup. The baby girl was transported to McKay- Dee Medical Center for a medical check, Gibson said, and the Department of Child and Family Services will be notified.
She also said Boren's husband, Drew Boren is in prison and she takes care of their two children by herself.
Well now they can both raise their children from prison.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me
