Mother had to pay for cost of cleaning her son's blood off the streets after he is killed by a drunk driver through no fault of his own
A drunken driver killed an Upstate women's son last year, and if the grief wasn't enough, she's had to deal with bills associated with the wreck, even for the cost of cleaning up her son's blood.
A coroner called Loretta Robinson last June and told her that her oldest son, Justin Walker, died when his car was struck by a drunken driver on White Horse Road.

This is sad and disgusting. The mom should not have had to pay to have her son's blood cleaned off of the streets

Talk about a double whammy. Unbelievable.

I know I don't think " mainstream" but shouldn't the drunken at fault driver be responsible for the cost associated with her crimes? So she was an illegal immigrant without means of payment. Why not waive payment of bills like that just like any medical & legal fees she received? Hell , bill her country of orgin. Who sends bills for that anyone ? Here , a city work crew would have took care of that. Isn't that why we pay taxes?

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

That's how it works here. WE impound vehicles for criminal investigations, and if we can't keep it in our own secured lot, WE pay the cost of keeping it in a secured impound elsewhere. Also, the fire department typically washes down the road when needed, and they don't charge for the service.
