Police arrest man during interview for officer job
Man who applied for Westwood Police Department position arrested during interview - NorthJersey.comWESTWOOD -- A man who had applied for a position with the Westwood Police Department was arrested recently during his job interview.
Westwood (NJ) Police Chief Frank Regino would not discuss the matter in any detail, but did confirm that a police candidate was arrested on an outstanding warrant as he interviewed with the borough.
“It was a years-old warrant,” Regino explained, refusing to provide the interviewee’s name or additional details. “He wasn’t aware this traffic warrant existed, and it was something he hadn’t taken care of. It wasn’t anything serious.”
Regino said the man was removed from the pool of potential candidates.
Mayor John Birkner, Jr. said Wednesday the warrant was uncovered during a background check.
“He was being interviewed and they asked him if there was anything he wanted to tell them; he said, ‘No,” and they said, ‘Are you sure?,’ ” Birkner recalled. “That is when they produced the warrant and escorted him downstairs where they booked him.”

We usually find a couple in each process with local traffic warrants. Having a couple of officers cuff an applicant right after he finishes the 2 mile run has a great psychological effect on the others.

That sort of thing happens every once in a while... We had a dispatcher applicant who turned out be wanted...
I've also heard stories of polygraphers doing national security polys who had to stop, and call cops in for things that were confessed...Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

I was told of a recruit who was arrested at one of the UK training schools after his fingerprints taken in the first week to be held on record for elimination came back as a match for those found at the scene of an unsolved burglary in his home town

There was a street h where MPDC wasn't being as thorough as one might have hoped. They actually had someone show up through a series of errors who had just been released from Portion Penitentiary...

There was one in the news not long ago of a guy who confessed to molesting a few children during his background poly.

These days go by like trucks and trains
Some hit so hard you barely feel a thing...
These times count down like boats and planes
Some wash away in undertow
Some plummet down in flames

Imagine what would pop up if security guards had to take polygraphs.

We always have some with warrants. If there is a current recruit class going they will let them actually handcuff and search and write the arrest report. Good practice.
