I see some news outlets are already blaming the police for shooting some of the victims that were in the crossfire. I'm sure there's some ambulance chaser out there that'll be suing the cops for doing their jobs.
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

What are people's thoughts on Bloomberg's statement that officers may have shot civilians?
Personally -- he was in a catch-22. Denial would have led to all sorts of crap had it turned out that a round from a cop did hit a civilian. Admit the possibility -- and he gets accused of not standing behind the cops. He's a politician; he's going to do what saves his job...
The most important thing: The responding cops were handed on hell of a shit sandwich, given the crowds at rush hour in NYC. They handled it pretty damn well!Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

I was in NYC yesterday, fortunately not terribly close to the Empire State Building.
