Don't be to sure of that. I know of an FBI agent who was a fire arms instructor at Quantico teaching in the basic class. Upon returning to the class room after firing on the range he was instructiing the students on fire arms safety, when his weapon discharged hitting an agent in the front row, going thru him into an agent in the second row (a female). Both survived but I don't know if they fully recovered to go on duty after graduation or not. He however was not fired and went on to another duty station(s). I knew him before he went to the Feds and worked with hom for a while after he retired. He did his full tour (30 yrs?) dand retired at mandatory retirement (after 2 age waivers). SO, maybe some crap details foonr a while, then carry on as usual.

If I was her boss, I might not pursue termination, but I would've held on to the pistol till she came looking for it.

She'll probably end up as the Secret Service Director considering the Obama Administration's track record and whom she's leaving unsecured weapons laying available around.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
