Brownells sells 3.5 years’ worth of magazines in 72 hours
Glad I Have a half a case of PMags sitting on my shelf.

In the face of possible legislation to restrict and possibly ban firearms and magazines over a certain capacity, waves of panic buyers have stripped shelves to the paint, at both retail and online gun stores.
A combination of demand and gouging has caused prices for rifle magazines and rifles, parts and accessories to more than double, with some vendors selling goods at five times what the average rate was just a few weeks ago.

You never know when you might need a magazine big enough to slaughter two dozen people without reloading.

It has nothing to do with slaughtering people. It has to do with the government attempting to restrict our constitutional rights. The 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting or target shooting. It is meant to give us (the people) the arms needed to overthrow the government.

As opposed to pausing for the half second it takes to reload a ten round magazine?
Good grief. You've bought into the bullshit.
How's your violent crime rate over there without guns? Oh, I forgot - worse than ours.
I like you, and so does everyone else - but we might be a bit sensitive to input about guns from folks in England.I'm your huckleberry...

Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa - widely considered one of the world's most dangerous countries.

Try United Nations Office Crime and Drugs. Statistics show assaults etc.for you around 778,901 and for us 367,045.
Deaths by firearms for you 9960, us 41.
Robberies 357,000 you. 76,000 us

Crime rate is measured by rate per 100,000 not total numbers.
Your population is about the size of California and Texas. Add up those numbers and try again.
Your rate per 100K is 2000. Ours is 467.
Yes, you have fewer firearms deaths. Do you think it's morally superior to be beaten to death with a fucking hammer?
I don't think the UK is a particularly dangerous place. The US isn't either. Not trying to get into a pissing contest. Just don't want you to believe the UK is a dangerous place. It isn't.
I do believe the world can be dangerous regardless of political boundary, and I believe like my forefathers that the right to defend yourself is absolute, granted by god, and inalienable.
Your mileage varies, which is why we had a little gunfight a couple of hundred years ago.
Your experience with guns and bad guys is appreciated - I know you know better than to blame a magazine. If you're the pro I take you for, your reloads are on par or faster than mine. The magazine size is a political target.I'm your huckleberry...

The only higher homicide rates per 100,000 that the US are Mexico and Estonia.
I might be wrong but the US right to keep and bear arms isn't about crime prevention, it's about freedom from oppression from a foreign backed bid to change your governmental system. The context has changed and while the size of magazines which this thread was about might be a side show it's actually about the degree of control. You are already banned from having automatic weapons, rockets and other "military" weapons the current debate is about where you draw your lines and whether that would prevent the death of school children, firefighters etc.
The NRA suggesting of making schools into prisons is deeply flawed the next person would ambush a school bus attack a sunday school or church, enter a toy store on a saturday afternoon etc.
If it's about crime stats everyone should surely be researching the Japanese system of law enforcement, firearms licencing, criminal justice and punishment. On average they come out best in all the catagories compared and in the other tables and stats I found online."all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" Edmund Burke.
