Mine is right at the front door. I won't run either. However, the sheer thought of an actual war is very unsettling to me. There are people that have a crazy concept of "civil war" and yet their words are heard. Example...
It isn't the situation with the Sheriff I'm talking about. It's the idiot narrating. This is just a minute example. There are others.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

This. I pray it doesn't come to it. I would hope if the politicians are dumb enough to pass it that the court will strike it down. So far the court (narrowly) has been supportive of the 2nd amendment. If they were to uphold a ban then I think that is when things could start to get ugly.

I have noticed that also. But it seems to fall on the same question as the OP did. Most of the people I see posting negative outcomes to LEOs confiscating guns seem to be a warning to remember the Constitution. I don't see those as threats per se but more in the tone of warnings to think about it.
Violate your oath of office and bad things can happen. Of course, each and every one of us will have to do some soul-searching and ultimately decide if we follow the law that may be enacted or follow what we believe the intent of the Constitution really is. Your oath and your personal view of it will determine your actions and you may not be happy with the outcome of said actions.
Me personally- well, I'm lucky in some ways. I am a cop in a kind of hybrid agency. There are no guns where I work. Anyone having one is not in violation of the law, but in violation of a institutional policy and has to take it out of the institution. So I don't have to worry about taking guns away in my jurisdiction as there aren't any present [
].
My concern would be my butt-head governor deciding he wanted to put one of the "emergency plans" into action and start farming us out to assist other agencies, maybe including the feds, doing whatever it is they think is the thing to do. Should he do such a stupid thing... well there's an solution for that.
As I have posted here, I have had two spinal back operations and a spinal neck operation. I'm close to retirement with less than 21 months to go. Both my back and neck are acting up and I may have to pull some time from work and take an extended leave while my doc schedules a bunch of tests. Not saying it would be a blue flu type thing or anything like that. I've put that off for months now and I'd think it'd be time to finally subject myself to the care of doctors once more.
As far as my personal stuff goes, I'm more concerned about CT passing some even stricter law than I am the feds doing it. Any law CT passes will cause me to move what I have out of this state and then that law is meaningless.
21 months- I was so close and yet it turns out, I may be so far away...

If you have an opinion state it, and defend it. All you did was post an asshole smart ass comment insulting everyone in this conversation. This was an interesting conversation until you stepped in it. If you'd like to try again and add something valuable please do so.

Now, back to the subject....I would have a hard time confiscating guns from law abiding citizens. I think that if the government ever really tried to institute such a plan, the results would be disastrous .
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

He's right. Diane Feinstein won't be confiscating guns, we will be. And we'll be dying for it, not her. I imagine law enforcement will be much more cooperative in states where guns are already heavily regulated. States with a strong gun culture won't find many cops willing to participate. I even anticipate my state government ordering us not to cooperate. Which is fine by me.

This type of mentality scares me on two fronts. One that a police officer or son of one I would know could be involved in confiscation of guns. Two that the actions of a few officers would spell out a serious problem for all. We are ambushed and killed enough as it is. Just because one officer does it doesn't mean we all do it.
