So, if the orders came down, "Confiscate the guns!" who is going to do it?
When I was sworn in, I agreed to uphold the constitution.
Not gonna happen. I'd rather turn in my notice.
Over the years my mind has changed on a variety of subjects. I am sure it will happen again. However, at this point I am not sure the government would do a "gun grab". As of now I am convinced that the government still believes it would be a blood bath. I think it would take a LOT more time to soften the American people before gun confiscation will happen.
As far as who will do it? I imagine that there will eventually be enough local and federal cops worried about losing their jobs that would participate. If it ever becomes illegal to possess an unregistered firearm the ATF would apply for a federal warrant and request assistance from local authorities to execute them. This would be a very long time down the road though. jmo.
Not I. Second Amendment today , the rest of the Constitution tomorrow.
Nope. But then again they would probably hit my house first
Not a chance in hell. That'd be the first day of a new career field.
Never. I would find a new career, though, it probably wouldn't matter because if they tried I think it would be a new civil war for sure.
Not a prayer. Although, my own guns seem to have disappeared when my boat capsized on Lake Superior.
I suspect there will be a lot of scuba divers looking in the lake.
If you ever posted on this forum, you can bet the feds (ABC Agencies) know who you are (if they want). As Santa used to say, making a list, checking it twice. Unless your weapon was a private deal between to individuals, the State has a record of it, and any Fed Agency can get access to that list. When they start kicking down doors, how many will fold?
Not I. I come with a full house. All I can say is bring it although I still doubt they will. We all have to die some day. I'd rather die for what I believe in.
I can't envision the day that our government would throw the constitution to the wind and expect any citizen to comply without putting up a stink. The framers knew what they were doing when they provided for the citizenry to maintain arms.
Not I. I too lost my guns in a boating accident... I sure will miss them.
I am proud to hear that my fellow LEOs are standing by the Constitution, and the 2nd amendment. These are trying times for our country. The situation in our country now makes me fear for what my children will have to go through in their life time. I stand behind The Constitution of my country and I support all those who also support it. I fear the day that civil war happens, but all I can do is be ready to protect myself and my family (all of you are included, though I suspect you can handle yourselves). This is about more than just gun rights, it's about every right we have being in danger. That's just my opinion.
After a bit of surfing I am now concerned about the amount of people I am finding that are propagating, attempting to instigate and push the concept of civil war. I have little doubt that the vast majority of these people would quickly regret a war if one were to begin. As the saying goes...be careful what you wish for... A lot of things I read concerning this show lines of not being police friendly either. Lines are being drawn but they are not being drawn straight.
I don't think they'd do it. It would mean violence for sure, even if it didn't rise to the level of a "civil war" enough people would be pissed off and start targeting the government. Sadly uniformed street cops who have nothing to do with the feds will probably end up paying.
I believe it will be a ban on cosmetic accessories that make guns look scary. I was sort of hoping for more drama with the fiscal cliff. That had the potential to keep those idiots in Congress busy for a while.
