I haven't got an update on his status other than "non-lifethreatening injury".
He was headed to eat with his family following in a vehicle behind him when he started to turn around on a violator. From what I understand, the vehicle driven by his son struck his patrol car right in his door.
May all recover fresh and whole to enjoy this family memory.

From what I understand, Trooper Sims suffered a broken pelvis. They took him to a bigger hospital in Ft Worth. His son & daughter in law were banged up, but treated & released that night. His wife got a pretty bad break in a leg & had to stay in the hospital a little longer, but I've heard she's now in FtW with her husband.
Sounds like all are gonna be fine.
