For the few forces that are actually recruiting new officers(a rare event) New recruits are facing a reduction of £4,000 a year to a starting salary of £19,000.
Good way to encourage the best candidates, I think not.

That equels to about 30,500.00 Dollars. Nodt bad starting pay in some parts of our country. What are the benefits??? (besides kinda warm beer)
That is an interesting thought. If a US citizen moves to the UK, could they join the local constabulary? Or must you be a UK born citizen? Also, is it hard to learn the language? (Just kidding!)
And, of course, of that £19000 they will pay 14% of that into the pension!
Just like a cop to have to do more with less. How in the hell are they supposed to raise a family on that?
