"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

A true hero. He did more for this country than any drug addled Hollywood/media creation, yet his passing will be treated as little more important than Groundhog Day.
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

I loved his book. He's been helping injured soldiers so this is a huge loss in many ways. Rest easy.

This was so disheartening to me. As a result of the guys from that fraternity being willing to open up and share the experiences that make them superheroes in they eyes of society (I.e Chris Kyle and Marcus Luttrell), they have become personal heroes of mine as it relates to a warrior mindset. I worked my shift yesterday depressed and very discouraged at the state of our country.

The article in our local paper was depressing. Most of the commentators were celebrating this as wonderful news. They referred to him as a murderer for what he did in the service. I truly think we are done as a great country when people like these types and our "president" are the majority now.
