Harry Weathersby Stamps, ladies’ man, foodie, natty dresser, and accomplished traveler, died on Saturday, March 9, 2013.
Harry was locally sourcing his food years before chefs in California starting using cilantro and arugula (both of which he hated). For his signature bacon and tomato sandwich, he procured 100% all white Bunny Bread from Georgia, Blue Plate mayonnaise from New Orleans, Sauer’s black pepper from Virginia, home grown tomatoes from outside Oxford, and Tennessee’s Benton bacon from his bacon-of-the-month subscription. As a point of pride, he purported to remember every meal he had eaten in his 80 years of life.*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."*************************"There's something inherently wrong with having to put on a bullet-proof vest and a gun to go to work."-(An old friend)

I agree with you, Cidp - that's someone I wish I'd known. That obituary made me smile, he lived a wonderful life. May he rest in peace.

Sounds like my kind of guy'Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a
delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly
promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which
holds forth the proposition that it is entirely
possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!'

Sounds like he was a real character. Whoever wrote the obituary should be a professional writer. I can't tell what was serious or sarcastic, but I LOL'ed all the way through."never bring paws to a gunfight" - Jenna

I suspect he wrote that himself, at least mostly. That was awesome. I hope I can go with some echo of that same sense of style, class, and humor.\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\
