Citizenship papers a must to register to vote? Supreme Court to decide
Any anti ID perspectives? Just curious. We show ID here where we vote.
US Supreme Court on Monday heard a case about an Arizona law requiring prospective voters to show papers proving they are US citizens. Federal law requires only an oath under penalty of perjury. Can a state tack on that extra provision?
A sharply divided US Supreme Court heard arguments Monday in a case examining whether Arizona can require residents to present proof of US citizenship before being allowed to register to vote.
At issue is a measure adopted by statewide ballot in 2004, Proposition 200, that requires applicants for voter registration to present documentation proving their citizenship. Acceptable proof includes a driver's license, a naturalization ID number, or a photocopy of a birth certificate, passport, or naturalization document.
Critics of the measure say it erects a barrier to potential voters. More specifically, they say the state law clashes with the more limited demands of the federal voter registration law.

I think there should be some ID. It'll help prevent some of this fraud that seems to always occur on the Dems side. Maybe it'll also stop dead people and dogs from voting.

No. I think we should trust everybody that says that they are a U.S. citizen and let them vote. After all I'm sure if I went to Mexico , Russia , Iran, Canada etc. and I said that I was a citizen, they would trust me and they would allow me to vote in their elections , that's if they even have elections.

The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented
on his wearing his sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you
expecting trouble?" "No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have
brought my rifle."

It would be amusing to see how many people would be popped if they did a warrant status check... Even if you just put an LPR covering the cars.
But it'd never fly; you'd be discouraging voters. I wonder, though, if the Motor Voter law would be able to be tweaked to have notice of suspensions handed out at the polls...Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.
