The PIT manoeuvre isn't one that is "officially" taught. However I know of a few occasions when it has been the most the most appropriate this was a case in point.
Good to see no one was worried about tactical contact and the clear determination of the officers who got out and even carried on in a hopeless foot chase.the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.
