Man wakes up locked in airplane

Tom Wagner woke up Friday night and the plane cabin was dark. And empty. Completely empty. He looked around from his window seat near the back of the jet and wondered, "What is going on?"He tried the jet door. It was locked.
ExpressJet told KTRK there was a post-flight cabin inspection, but the company couldn't explain how Wagner was overlooked.

Not only did the flight attendants miss him, but they must not have sent a cleaning crew on there either. Unreal. TSA is more than likely going to heavily fine the airline.

I have to wonder how he slept through the commotion of landing. I kind of suspect that his nap was "assisted", perhaps more than a little...

He actually departed from my airport Friday night, with a scheduled change in Houston to the California bound flight.

His daughter called and talked to one of my deputies, who checked with the UAL manager here, who basically said, "No way."

Of course he wasn't on one of the flights parked here, he was in Houston.

After a few phone calls to Houston, they checked and found him.

I'd be willing to bet that there was no sweep of the aircraft before they locked it down for the night. How can you miss a grown man in a seat? And he isn't a small man either.

Someone on the Houston ground crew will likely be in a world of trouble. Jus' guessin'.

I've slept through the firebell (mounted on the wall at the head of the bed) at a fire station, and insane turbulence on a flight. Another time, a roomie on a trip tried to wake me for breakfast, even shook my shoulders, & I didn't wake up. Not saying he wasn't "assisted", but it could happen. Funny that no passenger getting off the flight commented to an attendant that the guy was still sleeping.

Actually the Flight Attendant would be in more trouble. While it is normal for the ground crew to check and clean a plane at night, there is nothing saying the search and cleaning can't be done in the morning prior to the first flight.
