'Wrong' recycling accused bailed
Donna Challice denies six charges
A Devon mother-of-three accused of failing to recycle household waste properly has appeared in court.
Donna Challice, 30, of Wonford, Exeter, is being prosecuted for contaminating recyclable rubbish under the Environmental Protection Act.
She denies six charges brought by Exeter City Council in what is thought to be the first case of its kind.
A pre-trial review was held on Monday and the case adjourned by Cullompton magistrates until 10 July.
The offences of putting food waste into recycling bins are alleged to have taken place on 2 and 16 November 2005, 30 and 14 December 2005, and 8 and 22 February 2006.
She faces a possible fine of £1,000 and court costs if found guilty.
Under the Environmental Protection Act, local authorities have the power to specify how people separate their waste, which bin it should be placed in and which day it will be collected.

Having seen her on local TV being interviewed about this. I'm glad she was prosecuted. She's the type, that if any of you ever stopped her for a motoring offence, she'd definitely get the ticket.

Hehee, she either pissed off the neighbors, or she's one of those "chronics" that pissed off the whole block.
