SAN DIEGO -- Federal kidnapping charges were filed Thursday against a couple accused of giving away or selling two of their children to Mexican families.

ward Henry Leader, 37, and Jessica Heird, 20, face extradition to Arizona. The pair were arrested by federal agents last Friday at the San Ysidro Port of Entry after being detained by Mexican authorities in Tijuana.

The couple were living in Baja California when they allegedly decided to make money by selling their 18-month-old daughter and three-year-old son, authorities said. Heird is currently six months pregnant with the couple's third child. Leader has fathered at three other children.
