SAN DIEGO – A man was shot in a leg with a .45-caliber pistol in a gang-related fight in Logan Heights early Saturday, police said.

Authorities tend to a man who was injured in a fight in Logan Heights. Another man, who walked away from the fight, was shot in the leg nearby.
The man, whose name was withheld, was hit once in a leg in the 200 block of South 33rd St. shortly after 1:20 a.m., San Diego police Sgt. Alan Hayward said.

The victim, who is expected to live, had been challenged to fight by a suspected gang member, he said. After the victim beat the man up, the loser returned with several friends and a .45-caliber pistol that was used in the shooting, Hayward said.
