Police dog bites burglary suspect
BAY PARK – A burglary suspect tangled with a police dog while hiding in an attic yesterday and landed in the hospital with bite wounds, San Diego police said.
Neighbors on Frankfort Street called police about 5:45 p.m. after seeing a stranger break into a house empty for remodeling.
Officers surrounded the house, then searched it as a police helicopter hovered. When they couldn't find the man, they hoisted a police dog into the attic. The dog found the man and bit him several times before officers got the man in custody.
Police said they suspect the man in several other break-ins. They searched his Second Avenue home and confiscated a new washer and dryer believed stolen, Sgt. Alan Hayward said
