K-9 Deputy Is Back Home in Mt Pleasant

Isabella County's wandering K-9 deputy is back home. The sheriff says "Lizzie" has lost some weight and has a bad limp but is otherwise unhurt after escaping from her pen last Thursday. A veterinarian will examine her. A citizen found the nine-year-old Belgian Malinois last night near a Taco Bell in Mount Pleasant. He was able to corral the dog in a garage after following it about a mile. Lizzie is trained to detect illegal narcotics and in tracking human beings.
