SAN MARCOS A night club patron fired several shots from a handgun as he was being ejected from the bar just before closing time early Friday for being rowdy, authorities said.
The man was asked to leave Club Tropics on Norhdahl Road at Montiel Road at 1:50 a.m. when he pulled out the weapon and began firing, said San Diego sheriff's Lt. Scott Rossall.


A California Highway Patrol officer who was in the area heard the shots and responded, along with sheriff's deputies and Escondido police, Rossall said.
They arrived at the club to find the man detained by the club's security guards and took him into custody without incident, Rossall said.

No one inside the club was injured and deputies checked local hospitals to see if anyone was being treated for gun shot wounds but did not find anyone, Rossall said.
