Peeping suspect flees, impales self on iron gate
A suspected Peeping Tom, clad in black from head to toe, landed in the arms of Lakewood police early Friday after he tried to flee and impaled himself on a wrought-iron gate.
Scott Alan Kruger, 35, Lakewood, was arrested on suspicion of window peeping, trespassing and disobeying a police order. He was treated at St. Anthony Central Hospital for his injuries, jailed and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis said a 31-year-old woman called police about 12:30 a.m. after she spotted a man peering in her bedroom window.
Police spotted him at West Virginia Avenue and South Swadley Street, and ordered him to stop, Davis said.
But the man ran and attempted to jump a wrought-iron gate in the 400 block of South Swadley, impaling himself and falling forward, Davis said.
Kruger, who lives in the area, was taken into custody at the scene. He told police he was a real estate agent.
He has a previous arrest record, including two arrests for trespassing.
