Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Police Cruiser
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Police said a woman was hit and killed by an officer's cruiser early Monday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Federal Highway. Police said Fort Lauderdale police officer Alexander Griss was finishing his shift and headed home when he hit the woman who apparently stepped off the curb.
The woman's identity has not yet been released.
The highway was shut down in both directions from the 1900 block to the 2300 block until about 8:30 a.m.
The investigation is continuing.In law enforcement, the customer is ALWAYS wrong.
In God we trust. Everyone else is run through NCIC.
Sometimes there is justice. Sometimes there is just us.
I'd rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6.
