Police Officer gets mouth full of maggots...
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- A Miami-Dade police officer missed work Friday, the day after she says she bit into a steak sandwich and ended up with a mouthful of maggots.
Detective Angie O'Dell was eating a pan con bistec (steak sandwich) that she had purchased at Ampy Bakery, an Argentinean restaurant on Northwest 199th Street, when, she said, she realized the sandwich contained maggots.
Another officer at the substation took video of the sandwich and the maggots.
O'Dell said that she went to see a doctor Friday and was given some pills to treat food poisoning. She did not report to work on Friday and it is not clear when she will return to duty.
O'Dell kept the sandwich as evidence of the incident, and said that she now has it frozen in her refrigerator at home.
Miami Gardens Code Enforcement is investigating the incident.
O'Dell has not yet said if she will pursue legal action.
Local 10 tried to get a comment from Ampy Bakery, but they didn't want to respond.
O'Dell said at least when she went back to the restaurant, they did refund her $11.20.In law enforcement, the customer is ALWAYS wrong.

Eating maggots alone wouldnt have hurt her. They are pure protein. Since maggots only eat rotten flesh, I have to wonder about the quality of the sammich she bought.

If she was onduty she should be looking at hooking those fuckers up. Even if they didn't know about it. I'd take that to the bank!!
Just because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!
