Seven Indicted for Alleged Terror Plot to Hit Sears Tower, Other Buildings

A group of young men seized in a Miami warehouse have been charged in a federal indictment with conspiring with Al Qaeda to commit acts of violence in the United States, including blowing up Chicago's Sears Tower.

The seven individuals indicted by a federal grand jury were taken into custody Thursday when authorities swarmed the warehouse in the Liberty City area, removing a metal door with a blow torch. The indictment also alleges plans to blow a federal building in Miami in conjunction with the Al Qaeda terrorist network.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and other top-level Bush administration officials scheduled a news conference for later Friday and a similar briefing was in Miami.

According to the indictment handed up Thursday, a young man identified as Narseal Batiste, beginning in November 2005, recruited and trained the others "for a mission to wage war against the United States government," including a plot to destroy the Sears Tower.

To obtain money and support for their mission, the conspirators sought help from Al Qaeda, pledged an oath to the terrorist organization and supported an Al Qaeda plot to destroy FBI buildings, the four-count indictment charged.

Can we put these guys in between the US military and the enemy? Please? I am a full supporter in the phrase "If you can't support the US military, please feel free to stand in front of them".

In my opinion, they ARE the enemy! If they want to support their brothers over there, ship 'em to Guantanamo.

Guantanamo is for non-citizen enemy combatants and is too good for them - Five of these are American citizens, so those five deserve a Treason charge:

Article 3 Section 3 of US Constitution:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort

By their own admission, their mission was to wage war against the US, and they apparently sought out (adhered to) Al Qaeda, who is certainly our enemy - It's a myth that "enemy" must be a recognized government.

I'm sure that Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton will come to the defense of these poor, downtrodden minorities that were simply trying make up for the inequitites bestowed upon them based on the treatment of their ancestors.

Black or white, I say hang them. They are traitors to their country.

Yeah, Hopefully there will be more charges coming down as the case develops - The indictment in the article that Virginian posted appears to only list several counts of "Sec. 2339A. Providing material support to terrorists", carrying only a 15-year sentence, which is disappointing:

Saw the pix, no Swedish grandmothers no retired US Army 1SG’s or city, state or federal cops.

All “American citizens” tried for treason, found guilty, and shot.

The others taken out to the 12-mile limit and allowed to swim home.

You know if they hate this country so much lets respect that right. I mean this is America. We all have the right to live and think what we want to right.

So lets do the right thing, Don’t put them on trial, Send them to one of our alleys and ask them questions about their organization. Solely for the purpose of learning more about them so we can understand them.

In other words send them to a third world alley and torture the shit out of them. Oops I must have typed what I was thinking. Damn I hate it when that happens.

You know, these are unusual terrorists, in that they look like dope dealers and gang-bangers.

Well, at least the Libs cannot point to the same demographic that they pointed to when Tim Mcveigh blew up the Murrow Federal Building in Oklahoma City - I got tired of being blammed for that one.
