Myspace Murders....
BROOKLYN; NEW YORK
New York City authorities are turning to a popular Web site to uncover any possible leads in the murder of a 16-year-old girl, whose strangled body was found in a trash bag.
Police in Brooklyn believe that Chanel Petro Nixon might have known - or possibly communicated online - with her killer.
Nixon's body was found in a trash bag dumped a mile from her home. Authorities say that when they found Nixon, her body was partially clothed, but there were no indications of sexual assault.
Investigators are now looking into conversations Nixon had on MySpace-dot-com, a Web site popular with teens. According to a family member, Nixon frequently chatted online.
Still, no one can yet piece together who would want to kill the high school student, who shocked family members say had a long, prosperous life ahead of her.

When will these kids learn not to put their life story and information on this or oher sites. Its just asking for trouble!

Anyone remember the book called Internet Slave Master by John Glatt, he got women to become submissive to him online , then he met and killed them...
Too many parents make the computer a babysitter to keep kids out of their hair and no clue what they really do on it ..

its a shady topic but its 16. i tried for criminal sexual contact but NM law requires that the violator has to be in a position of authority or power, and use force or coersion. nothing in the statute about free will...

Browsing myspace is like grocery shopping for a ped, twitch, or stab freak. The place is wide open. The nice thing about it is that we can get all kinds of information, too. I am still floored by all the wanna be bangers, underage drinking, and blatent drug using. Nothing like posting everything for Mommy and Daddy and the nasty po-lease.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

I have used myspace to locate and apprehend a couple of fugitive over the last year and a half.
It has it's good points but it has a lot of bad ones. Like that azzclown Jacob Robida a few months back that went postal with a hand gun and hatchet in a local gay bar then fled out west where he ended up killing a UPO and his girlfried; whom was about 15 years his senior if I remember correct, before turning his gun on himself.
He myspace account was all about hate and nazism. After an inquire from me on behalf of the tv news station I work part time for his page was quickly removed.
But every week I see articles about myspace this and myspace that.
They think that since they set all profiles for those under 18 to private and you must know the lst name or email address of the profile owner to get on their list nad see their profile. This will only encourage these kids to be more expressive and revealing on their profiles.
Things will only get worse!Everybody is entitled to MY opinion!
