OH-Marshall & suspect dead
Columbus police say the man who shot a U-S Marshal has been found dead after an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
Lt. James Schrader of the Columbus Police Department said Saturday (6/24) that the body found in the backyard of a Columbus residence is believed to be that of Alex Hopkins, but that confirmed identification cannot come until the body is taken to the morgue.
A manhunt had been underway for Hopkins since Thursday (6/22), when he started a shootout with the Marshals. The shooting started after the Marshals stopped a car in which Hopkins was riding. They had a warrant for his arrest on assault and drug charges in Cincinnati.
Immediately after fleeing, the manhunt for Hopkins began.
The Marshal that was shot is recovering.Everybody is entitled to MY opinion!
