Nice drug bust 100 metres from my home...
McDowell commends Dublin drugs raids
24 June 2006
The Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, has described today's raids - targetting criminal gangs - as a significant breakthrough in the war against drug-related violence.
Gardaí recovered guns and 30kg of heroin worth €8 million in a series of raids in Dublin and Meath.
The raids were carried out on homes in Swords, Co Dublin, and Ratoath, Co Meath, this morning.
Five Glock pistols were found in Swords and one Glock pistol was found in Ratoath.
The three men and three women, who are all members of the one extended family, are being detained at Whitehall, Ballymun, Blanchardstown and Finglas garda stations.
In a separate development in Dublin, gardaí are questioning a 23-year-old man following the seizure of €20,000 worth of cocaine in Finglas.
The seizure was made at an apartment, and included €18,000 in cash.
It is believed to be linked to the discovery of 30kg of heroin and cocaine in Malahide last February.
It is thought the drugs were brought in by a Coolock-based drugs gang working with another criminal gang in Liverpool.
The 23-year-old man, from Liverpool, can be held for up to seven days." (http://www.rte.ie/news/2006/0624/drugs1.html)
Yep, no more than 100 metres from my own front door. Interesting to note that the figure has risen to 35 million due to the extremely high quality and the fact that it had not yet been cut.Originally Posted by TXCharlie

Loosing €35 million worth of drugs is probably enough to get a few unapprehended gang members into deep doo-doo with their bosses and suppliers - They should be running to you asking for protection!

A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

Good, four paws up from my dawg. Now we should go out and tell all the other drug dealers that the ones they did not catch were snitches. That may slow it down a little more.
