Drunk man plays Russian Rhoulette with a semi-automatic handgun....DOH!!!!

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (AP) -- A man celebrating the Fourth of July in St. Petersburg fatally shot himself while playing with a handgun.

Police say Casey Neal was drinking during a cookout at his house early Wednesday when he pointed the semiautomatic handgun at his head and told friends he would pull the trigger after counting down from five.

Police say it appears to be an accident.

Idiot didn't realize that a semiautomatic operates differently than a revolver. Thing is, if the guy really had been as brainless as he appears from this article, he'd have survived. The bullet would just ricochet around in his empty skull.

Your post reminded me of my uncle that took his life 3 years ago. He shot himself in the head....and the Dr's said the bullet literally went round and round in his head. He didn't die right away and suffered by himself for about an hour before his fiance came home and found him. Won't go into details, but your post just reminded me of that.

There was a guy in our town that shot himself in the head with a .45... The internal preassure was so intense that it caused his eyeballs to pop out - Not all the way, just most of the way. ANd of course there was blood & grey matter everywhere. Gross.

At least he didn't linger like your uncle.

Accident because the intent was not to kill himself. Russian roulette is when you take a revolver, place one round in it, spin the cyclinder and without looking where the bullet is, placing the gun to your temple and pulling the trigger. Great fun for the whole family. Obviously, you can not do this with an auto. Hence, the fact that LEF posted the thing so we could all laugh at this idiot.
