5yo Girl Okay After Carjacking.
From a local station:
Girl Found Safe
She Was In Stolen Car
Breaking News
A 5-year-old girl who was in a car stolen from an Atlanta grocery store is back with her family.
Police say a man stole a car late Sunday afternoon at the Publix on Ponce de Leon Avenue. The little girl was inside.
Shortly before 6 p.m., police found the car a short distance away. They rushed the girl back to her waiting parents at the grocery store. She was not hurt.
The carjacker remained on the loose Sunday night.

Anyone else think Mom should be charged with Child Abandonment, or am I just an A-hole?
I swear people should have to have a license to have a kid. I'm glad the baby is okay, I really am. But if the kid was found dead, or worse, then it would serve the mother right. She should suffer such a horrific ordeal just so she'll learn how to be a better parent.
As you can tell, I'm pretty PO'd.

Not an A-hole, she should be charged. At 5 years old, whether she meant to abandon her or not, that's exactly what she did!

I agree that we need more info, but I wonder why she was left in the car in the first place...

About 40 minutes the car was found with the girl crying inside. APD spokesperson said they are fairly sure that the perp didn't know the child was in the car.
How many calls have you gotten (or just seen yourself) where a parent leaves their kid in the car "while the run in right quick"? If you need more info than that, then you haven't been policing long enough. The virtue of spirit has no need for thanks or approval.
