An autopsy was scheduled to be performed Monday on the body of a 29-year-old mentally ill Mukwonago man who died Sunday after police shot him with a Taser gun, authorities said.
Nickolos Cyrus suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, according to his father, Chet Cyrus.
Cyrus said during a psychotic episode Saturday, his son wandered away from home.
Nickolos Cyrus turned up early Sunday morning, half-naked, in a home under construction.
The homeowner called Town of Mukwonago police after he discovered the man inside the home.
A Village of Mukwonago officer also responded to the call.
Cyrus' father said his son was shocked twice by stun guns, once in the back when he turned to walk away from police and then once when police could not get him into handcuffs.
"There was blood coming out of his mouth and he was dead," said Cyrus.
Cyrus said police knew his son suffered from mental illness. He said they knew he wasn't armed and wasn't a threat.
"They knew they were dealing with a mentally disabled person," said Cyrus. "It's just another case of violence to handle a mental situation which another professional could have easily talked through."
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department was investigating.

OMG!!!!! Tazers now cause you to have internal bleeding and bleed out your mouth!!!! OMG!!!!
It's amazing the media doesn't report anything about officer's being tazed as part of their certification process. It would be nice to know just how many people are tazed with no lasting effects in a year, compared to how many are serously injured or died. Even if someone did die as a direct result of the tazer itself, and not a contributing action, we'd still hear complaints about it i'm sure. Does the media complain about ASPs and batons at all?
