man injured in RAM raid
Man injured by sheep 'ram-raid'
Mr Woosey says he will be staying away from sheep in the future
A golfer was left with a broken leg and dislocated ankle when he was the victim of a "ram-raid" by a sheep.
Postmaster and keen golfer Peter Woosey, 58, was knocked to the floor by the animal after chasing it out of his house in Whitworth in Lancashire.
The sheep had dodged past him into his home, which backs onto a post office, after he caught it in his garden.
Mr Woosey, who will be in plaster for eight weeks, said: "It brings a whole new meaning to the term 'ram-raid'."
The bizzare accident happened on Monday when Mr Woosey's wife, Susan, spotted the animal in their back garden.
It's stopped me working and, more importantly, it's stopped me playing golf
Peter Woosey
Fearing it would wreck hundreds of pounds worth of work they had done to the garden, Mr Woosey raced outside to chase it away - but it dodged past him into the house.
"I was running around the living room after this thing," he said.
"It was jumping on the sofa, causing havoc and I finally managed to get it back outside.
"But while I was looking left the sheep ran at me and butted me so hard it broke my leg. I've broken two bones.
"It's stopped me working and, more importantly, it's stopped me playing golf."
Mr Woosey said he would not be tackling any sheep in the future, and will be leaving any future trespassers "well alone".'The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing.'

Outside of SO MANY comments I had thought of saying referring to velcro gloves....
This is just another proof that men should stay away from sheep... goats, maybe... but not sheep...

Since the guy got hurt, is it a battering ram? And if the guy had hurt the animal, it would have been a battered ram, I guess. Get the ram drunk and it would be a beer battered ram.
someone please stop me!\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\
