Tactical knives becoming dangerous new fad

As knives are getting smaller and more sophisticated, authorities and some victims said they are also as dangerous as ever.
Duhhh
Charles Walker said he has a vivid reminder of the pain knives can inflict after attackers cut his cheek wide open in a Dallas knife fight three years ago.
"It was very deep," he said. "I had to get stitches for it.."
In Dallas alone during the first six months of this year, knives were used to commit four murders, nine aggravated assaults, 14 rapes, and 246 individual robberies among other crimes.
A modern pocket knife, or so-called tactical knife, is designed to deploy with one thumb, cut quickly and then be concealed. A similar knife, the urban pal, is marketed as 'standard equipment for survival in today's urban jungle.'
"..I just think [they are] pretty much for protection because it's unpredictable out here and anything could happen," said Andrew Starr, said a Dallas resident.
The knives are available everywhere and there are options galore.
At a Richardson Wal-Mart, there were tiny tactical knives on sale for $10 each.
"A lot of people start carrying them...because it's cool," said Officer Carlos Crews, Dallas Police Department. "It's easy to conceal. It's easy to carry. But then if they need it to intimidate or to commit a crime, it's readily available."
Officer Crews is a DPD patrolman with first-hand knowledge of street crime and the weapons used, many of which are knives in disguise. He has found knives disguised as combs, pens, lipstick cases and lighters.
"..These things are out there and in the hands of a felon," Officer Crews said.

Jeff, you're an idiot; go back in the copy room and make copies of your butt.
That way you can present your best side on your resume; because you'll never make it as an investigative reporter.
We are the thin blue line
between you
and all the money in the world.
And no you can't have any.
