Don't make donut jokes to cops when you're carrying a stolen stereo
ENID, Okla. (AP) -- Two Enid brothers who made sarcastic comments to two police officers now face theft charges.
Police say Lieutenant Kevin Morris and Sergeant Tim Miller eating lunch when Buddy Joe Smith and Ricky Smith walked past them and sarcastically talked about the officers not eating at a donut shop.
When the officers left later they saw the Smiths walking in the opposite direction and pushing a Wal-Mart shopping cart with a stereo in it.
Police say the brothers gave inconsistent stories about how they got the stereo and were arrested after a store video showed them leaving without paying for the merchandise.
Both face complaints of knowingly concealing stolen property and Ricky Smith faces an additional complaint of providing a false name to the officers.
